Bringing individuals together from different households is more of a challenge than family groups. Sailing Courses for a maximum of 3 people per course day running out of our base on the Hamble River.

What Sailing Courses Can We Offer

The RYA have relaxed the rules for certain courses so we are able to run the following courses Start Yachting, Competent Crew and Day Skipper Courses without having to stay onboard over night.

OCEAN VILLAGE BOAT SHOW – 2020

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be exhibiting the following models

at the Ocean Village Boat Show between the 11-20th September.

Set in MDL’s stunning Ocean Village Marina, the show promises a really special end to what’s been an unusual year.

This means you’ll have to book an appointment in advance, and turn up a maximum of 30 mins beforehand (although you will have the opportunity to look around afterwards).

We’ll be cleaning our boat(s) between each appointment. The organiser’s allowed plenty of time between each appointment for us to make sure everything is ready for our next guests. And, numbers on the pontoons are being carefully managed so that there’s a steady flow of

people around the site and pinch points are mitigated in advance.

The RYA Start Yachting weekend is an introductory course for complete beginners to understand the basics of sailing.

We run our courses with a maximum of 4 students normally 3. This offers each student much more hands on time and combined with the extra space onboard we find that by reducing the numbers it creates a better learning environment all round.

Our sailing school is based in Mercury Yacht Harbour on the River Hamble and sailing takes places in and around the Solent.

Sailing Holidays UK

Planning a holiday in the UK this year and fancy the idea of something a little different, sailing can provide a flexible and relaxing holiday for every member of the family around the Solent.

Whether a short break or a week or two week long holiday we can put together a package and itinerary to suit your requirements and we have a range of yachts to suit most budgets.

Taking the yacht on a bareboat basis you will enjoy the freedom to move around to different locations and enjoy some fine destinations along the South Coast of England.

Aspirations to venture further afield then why not take a longer charter and explore the beautiful scenery of the West Country, Channel Islands and Brittany.

If you are a little rusty and want to brush up on your sailing skills then we can provide a skipper who will not only teach you everything you need to know but also guide you around some of the best places to visit.

Once you are up to speed then continue with the remainder of your holiday alone, or they can stay onboard for the duration, it is up to you.

We also often run family RYA Training Courses for those looking to achieve a formal qualification. It is also a great way to prepare for an overseas holiday as a family unit and armed with a Day Skipper qualification you can apply for your ICC certificate which is essential if planning a Mediterranean holiday.
